“Who we are”

Discover Hidden England was started on the 1st of February by husband and wife team, Stéphane and Hannah Barbey. We live in Broad Chalke, a lovely village 15 minutes west of Salisbury, Wiltshire in the South of England.

Stéphane is half French and half English and was born in France where he lived for most of his life. He has lived in England for many years now, as well as spending two years in Germany.

Hannah was born and bread in Broad Chalke, and knows the area like the back of her hand. She has also lived in France and Spain.

We are both very well traveled having been, between the two of us to every main continent except for South America. Recently we have lived in California for two years before coming back and starting Discover Hidden England.

“Why did we start Discover Hidden England?”

Hannah’s parents run a bed and breakfast 5 minutes from where we live. They frequently get asked questions about where to go, what to do, what to see, where to eat, etc. We thought that it was a huge waste of their time, as much as they might enjoy it. The question was why not create a service that would answer all these questions, and more, in one fell swoop? Which is exactly what we did!
